
Apostle George Montgomery Oliver, age 67, of Houston, Texas transitioned from this Earth peacefully in his home on June 20, 2023. Apostle George was born in Houston, Texas on July 9, 1955 to Thelma Wiley and "Flute" Lewis. He spend his early childhood in Richards, Texas but moved to Houston shortly after losing his mother at the age of seven.
He never graduated high school but was a student of life and had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. He did attend the University of JESUS CHRIST and received several Revelations from GOD. Apostle George married Sharon and they spend forty-three BEAUTIFUL years together. Together they had three children, Sharenna Dawnyel Potts, LaShondra Tamilyah Oliver, and Stephanie LaSharon Oliver. He worked as a courier driver for over twenty years with the majority of his career spend at Sonlife Corporation. He enjoyed writing lyrics and composing music. He played more than seven instruments, including drums, flute, saxophone, piano, and bass to name a few.
Apostle George gave his life completely over to GOD around 1985 and never looked back. He founded and established three different church based on the knowledge he learned from the late Apostle L.R. Masters at 4209 Rosemary Lane in Houston, Texas and further Revelations given to him by GOD. Apostle George was also a proud member of the L.O.C. (Local Organizing Committee) in Houston, Elders Institute of Wisdom at S.H.A.P.E. Community Center, worked with Jordan Faith Ministries, was part of a prison ministry that ministered to at least seventeen different prisons, and was licensed Bishop through I.C.C.M (International Congress of Churches and Ministers). He founded several nonprofits, N.O.A.H. Thrift Store and Pantry Center (Neighborhood Outreach and Administering Helps); C.R.O.S.S. (Churches Replenishing Our Social Securities); Psalms 133; B.L.A.C.K. Butterfly (Broadcasting & Lecturing African Cultural Knowledge); T.O.N.B (Taking Our Neighborhoods Back) adn Outmate Update State Foundation. He also had several radio and internet T.V. programs, including: "P.A.P's (Perspectives Aspects & Precepts); "As Sheep Among Wolves, Wise as a Serpent, Harmless as a Dove"; Deny Thyself FIrst, THen Take Up Thy Cross"; Hollywood vs. Holywood: Priest of the Hood Controversy"; GOD is the Potter, You are the Clay"; that provided both natural and spiritual food to the community, which he remained faithful to throughout his life, even after losing his sight and through all the battles he faced with his health.
Apostle George is survived by his wife, Sharon Oliver; his three daughters, Sharenna Potts, LaShondra Oliver, and Stephanie Oliver; his eight grandchildren, Josias Oliver, Kandace Oliver, Jontaisha Hawkins, De'Andrea Britton, Joshisah Johnson, Jo'Ryant Johnson, Jo'Zona Johnson, and Se'phyre Elder; two great-grandchildren, Karson Oliver and Jo'Riyah Oliver; an Uncle, James Davis; three nephews, Michael McGee, Arric Oliver, and Rayfield Oliver; five nieces, Doris May, Michelle, Rochelle, Sironda, and Passhen; and a host of other relatives, loved ones, and friends.
He was predeceased by his mother, Thelma Oliver; his father, "Flute" Lewis; his brother, LaSalle Oliver; his sisters, Hattie Faye Raglin, Bernice Oliver, Doris Whitaker and Helen Oliver; his nephew, Ansel Oliver and his niece, Linda Lewis.
