George was a devoted husband, caring father and valued friend to many. George is leaving us with many wonderful memories to cherish.
George proudly served his country during WWII as a member of the U. S. Navy. After his military service he returned to Atlanta, Georgia. He met his future wife in St. Louis, Missouri while traveling and working for General Electric Company, in the appliance division. He and his family moved to Houston, Texas, where he retired from General Electric after many years of service.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Alice McNabb Ruppenthal; children, Edward Ruppenthal and Lynne Westermeyer and his son-in-law, Nicholas A. Westermeyer.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Thursday, July 18, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, 1656 Blalock Road, Houston, Texas 77080. Service will be under the direction ofRev. Robert P. Goolsby, officiating.
