Gilbert is survived by his spouse, Stella Herrera; his son Gilbert Jr.; his son George Gomez; his son Joseph Gomez; his son Jeremy Gomez; his son Joshua Gomez; and his son Justin Gomez; his sister Norma Flores, his brother Joe Herrera and his brother Rick Herrera; his grandaughter Amri Gomez, his grandson Jordan Gomez, his grandson Jeremy Gomez Jr., his grandson Rudy Gomez, his grandson David Gomez, his grandson Domonique Gomez, his grandson Anthony James Gomez, his grandson Jaylen Gomez and his granddaughter Violet Gomez.
Gilbert was preceded in death by his mother Raquel Lopez and his father Jose D. Herrera Jr.; his brother Ruben Herrera.
Gilbert enjoyed his life to the fullest by doing the most pleasurable activities such as spending time with his wife and family and enjoying his steak at Texas Roadhouse. Also in his leisure, he enjoyed fishing , watching movies, and playing his instruments . Gilbert was the most calm and patient all around person. His proudest moment was surrendering to the Lord and becoming a prayer partner at church.
Gilbert will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but his spirit lives on in the cherished memories he leaves behind.
A visitation for Gilbert will be held Saturday, July 6, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel, 5100 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77022, followed by a funeral service from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
