

A life well lived ended on Wednesday, the 19th of May 2021 for Glenn Ewing Boles at the age of 70. Glenn was born on the 8th of September 1950 in Houston, Texas to John and Dorothy Boles. He was a loving son, husband, father, and dear friend to many.
Glenn was a lifelong resident of Houston where he graduated from Robert E. Lee High School. He continued his education at the University of Texas, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. He was a proud member of Sigma Nu Fraternity where he developed lasting friendships. While attending UT, he met his future wife, Kathleen “Kath” Ann Dooley of Beaumont, Texas. They married in 1973 and made Houston their home. Glenn and Kath were blessed with two sons, Brett Dooley Boles and Brian Patrick Boles.
Glenn began his career in the fire protection industry with Arthur Dooley & Son, later becoming Dooley Tackaberry, Inc. following a merger. He remained with the company until retirement. During his tenure there, he contributed extensively not only to growth in the United States but also abroad. His leisure time was spent playing golf with friends and family both at his beloved Lakeside Country Club and at favorite resorts. He also enjoyed time spent coaching and supporting his two sons in various sports.
Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, John and Dorothy Boles, in-laws Arthur and Myrtle Dooley, and son Brian Patrick Boles. He is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Kathleen Dooley Boles; son Brett Dooley Boles, wife Annette, and grandchildren, Brian, Erin, Brady, and Brax Boles of Lubbock, Texas; brothers Stanley Boles and wife Wendy of Palm Springs, California; Wayne Boles and wife Louann of Fort Worth, Texas; brother-in-law A. R. “Rhew” Dooley, Jr. and wife Sally of San Antonio, Texas; sisters-in-law Mary Ellen Oliver of Austin, Texas; Patricia Fletcher of Houston, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would also like to thank Dr. John Stevenson Bynon and Dr. Garth A. Beinart for their excellent care of Glenn over the past few years.
A private memorial service was held on Saturday, the 22nd of May, at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church in the Wayside Chapel. The family gathered for a private interment on Thursday, the 27th of May, at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston. The Reverend Richard H. Elwood, friend of the family, officiated both services. Glenn was laid to rest next to his son, Brian Patrick Boles.
A celebration of Glenn’s life will be held at a future date.
