On October 11, 1928, she was born to the proud parents of Will and Katie Long Griffin. She was baptized as an early age at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in the loving Canada Community. She married T.J. Underwood and they adopted a 6 month old baby boy and named him Monroe Louis Underwood. She leaves to cherish her memories: One son, Monroe Underwood (Shelia) and one brother, Rudolph Griffin. She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews and friends.
