Graciela E. Martinez

Graciela is survived by her mother, Graciela Perez Franco Escobedo, her son, Mario Martinez, and her brothers, Sergio Escobedo, with his wife, Margo Escobedo, their daughter, Graciela Escobedo, and Javier Escobedo, with his wife, Martha Escobedo, and their sons, Javier and Edgar Escobedo. Graciela is preceded in death by her father, Javier Escobedo.

Graciela was born on April 30, 1946 in Juarez, Mexico to Graciela and Javier. She received a degree from Colegio Latino Americano, which helped her develop into a seasoned executive with more than 30+ years experience in the energy sector and the information technology arena. During her professional career, she worked with Fortune 50 companies developing and executing their IT strategies. In her role as Sr. VP and Chief Information Officer for El Paso Corporation, Graciela had responsibility for all global information technology solutions for nine independent business units operating under the corporate umbrella. After retiring from El Paso Corporation, Graciela consulted with emerging companies to help them strategize and prepare for growth. Graciela was also active in her beloved community and served as a board member for the Harris County Housing Authority as well as contributing her time to several charitable organizations.

Friends and family are welcomed to attend and celebrate Graciela’s life during a memorial service to be conducted at one o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 24th of February 2018, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo.H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston. Immediately follow¬ing, all are invited to greet the family during a reception in the adjacent grand foyer.
