- I came to meet Hal, back in 1998, when My cousin and I moved Down to Texas from New York to Trade Currencies... I enjoyed Hal's addition to the Office Immediately ! Over the years I grew to know a little about him and his personality and characteristics, and a friendship was made because of the time spent in and around each other at the office ( where we all worked long and hard hours )... HAL HAD A PASSION FOR HIS WORK IN CURRENCIES, AND OTHER COMMODITIES, AS WELL AS SEASONAL PATTERNS AND HISTORICAL TENDENCIES... (( MORE THAN MOST TRADERS ))... Although some of these studies were a little off the "beaten Path", HAL KNEW THEY HAD A DIRECT IMPACT ON THE MARKETS IN GENERAL... HAL WAS RIGHT !!! I was always intrigued with most of his theory's, and enjoyed debating back and forth with him, when opinions did vary... He had a TERRIFIC SENSE OF HUMOR, and a voice that I can STILL REMEMBER VERY DISTINCTLY !!! I have been away for years now, and having lost touch with Hal,,, I knew nothing of this until today, 9/18/12, when I received a message from a mutual former co-worker... HAL SWANSON WILL TRULY BE MISSED !!! I PRAY FOR HIS FAMILY AND LOVED ONES, AND WISH THEM PEACE OF MIND AND HEART DURING THESE HARD TIMES THAT WILL BE SURE TO FOLLOW !!! JUST KNOW HE'S IN A BETTER PLACE !!!!

I knew Hal through Cynthia at work. We would visit for a few minutes at the end of the work day about a wide range of subjects.
We shared ideas about diets, foods and recipes as well as political trends and world history. He had an inte
resting theory of how human behavior occurred in repeating cycles and devoted a great deal of his time writing and researching the subject. He also kept me informed about his visits with his daughters and mother and talked with me about his military service and former work life. He was a bright, engaging man and his death absolutely stunned me. I'll miss him and our discussions. My deepest condolences go to his family and friends.

There wasn't a time that we didn't laugh, despite life's adversities and because of them.  He loved his life, his freedom, his girls and family.  He had the courage to act in the interest of others and shared the best of himself to those he found worthy.  He is loved.  Randy Swanson, St. Pete.
