Harry Willie Heckmann

Harry was born on November 17, 1921 in Brenham, Texas. He was a SSgt in WWII with the 9th Army Air Force 472 and participated in the invasion of Normandy, France. After returning home, he married Ruby Dannhaus and worked for International Harvester in Houston, Texas until he retired. He was a member of the American Legion post 0077 in Houston, Texas and the Sons of Hermann Lodge 007-1 in Magnolia Texas. He was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Houston Texas.

Harry will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Donna Heckmann Lee. He will also be fondly remember by his sister-in-law Faye Pophanken, niece Janice and her husband Bill Snead; niece Virginia Rogers, nephew Don and his wife Debbie Krause; nephews, Douglas and his wife Marilyn Heckmann, Ray and his wife Rhonda Heckmann; niece Betty Jean and her husband Jerry Danhaus. Harry was pre-deceased by his parents Rudolph and Malinde Heckmann and his wife Ruby of 40+ years.

Visitation will be at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home Monday February 15 from 5-7 pm. The Funeral service in memory of Harry will be held at Zion Lutheran Church 3606 Beauchamp Houston, Texas 77009 at 10:00 am on Tuesday, February 16, 2016. A committal service at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home will follow.
