Heather Renea Eckerman, age 38, of Huffman, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2025 at MD Anderson Cancer Center, with her loving mother at her bedside. She was born on May 23, 1987, in Houston, Texas, to her devoted parents, Donna and Doug Eckerman. Heather grew up in Dayton, where she spent many cherished years before making Huffman her home for the past eight years.
Heather loved Dr. Pepper, Mocha Frappes, and always having the best and cutest nails! She loved all of the above, but that could never even touch how much she loved being a mom to her precious children.
Heather was a proud and devoted mother whose world revolved around her three children — Tyler Eckerman, PJ Coleman, and Harleigh Eckerman. Her love for them was endless, and she worked tirelessly to ensure they were always cared for and supported. Her strength, faith, and perseverance were an inspiration to all who knew her.
She is survived by her parents and her children as listed above. She is also survived by her sister, Mindy Eiland, and husband, Corey; her brother, Joshua Eckerman, and wife, Samantha; her nieces, Sawyer and Collins Eiland; her nephews, Myles and Maverick Eckerman; and her grandparents, Ruth Meyka and Barney and Connie Oden. As well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved her dearly. She is preceded in death by her beloved late aunt, Helen Davidson & grandfather Milton Eckerman with whom she now rests. She is also proceeded in death by her great grandparents, Burl Max Rightmer and Ada Mae Rightmer, long time family friend Jodene Medina, and childhood friend Julian McCune.
Heather was a hardworking and compassionate dialysis technician, deeply loved by both her coworkers and the patients she cared for. Outside of work, she found her greatest joy in cheering on her children in the sports they loved and worshipping the Lord at Woodlands Church Atascocita. Her faith was unwavering, and her heart was full of grace, kindness, and love.
Visitation will be held at Brookside Funeral Home on Thursday, November 20, 2025 from 6-9 PM, with funeral services to follow on Friday, November 21, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Woodlands Church Atascocita. Heather will be laid to rest immediately following at Brookside Funeral Home, near her beloved late aunt and grandfather.
Heather’s light, laughter, and love will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her. Though her time here was far too short, her spirit will continue to shine through her children and all the lives she touched.
The family has established a fund to support Heather’s children as they grow. Those wishing to honor her memory may make contributions to the card drop box that will be available at the visitation and funeral. Lump deposit will then be mailed to their account established with Barclays Bank.
