

He joined the Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in the early 1970’s and later became a Deacon for the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. For over 35 years, he performed Baptisms and Quinceañeras. He counseled the Youth Ministry, Adolescent Catechesis and Evangelization and led the Hispanic Ministry. Later, he was Director of the Parish Administrative Services and Managed Retreat Centers. During the time as a Deacon, he touched many lives, however, his diagnosis of Alzheimer’s kept him from continuing his passion.
Deacon Hector H. Morales, 83, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 in Houston, Texas. He was born in Bogotá, Colombia to Hipólito Micàn and Leonilde Garzón on March 26, 1933. He is survived by his daughters, Rosa Morales, Gloria Fierro, Clara O’Hare and Connie Tolmie. He is also survived by his sons, Hector Morales and David Morales; brothers, Edgar Garzón and Jairo Garzón; eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Adela Morales and his son William Morales.
A Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Advantage Howard Glendale Chapel, 1015 Federal Road, Houston, Texas 77015.
