He was born on November 30, 1937 in Villapinzon, Colombia, to Jorge Agustin Segura and Purificacion Forero.
He grew up in Bogota, Colombia, earned a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of the Americas in Colombia in 1965, worked in Nicaragua and Chicago, Illinois, before moving to Houston, Texas, starting his trucking business, and for the past eleven years being semi-retired as a happy school bus driver for Fort Bend Independent School District.
He is survived by his wife Leonor Rodriguez; their four children: Hector Segura, Jr., Victor Segura, Sandra Segura, and Henry Segura; and his three grandchildren: Liliana Segura, Nicole Segura, and Michelle Segura. He is also survived by two sister: Graciela Segura and Anafelina Segura both in Bogota, Colombia.
