Henrik was a true family man. From growing up as one of eight siblings to being an incredible husband, father, and grandfather to his girls, he was always surrounded by love. He showed resilience and strength throughout his life—especially after the loss of his daughter, Andréa, and his diagnosis with Parkinson’s Disease.
Henrik was a jack of all trades and could always find a creative solution to any problem. He had a heart of gold, would give the shirt off his back, and had a wicked sense of humor. He had a passion for cars, farm life, and all things real estate.
He loved driving fast cars, working on vintage classics, and clearing land with his tractors. You never knew what he might be cruising down the street in next! Growing up on the family farm in Denmark, Henrik learned how to grow vegetables and care for the animal menagerie. He had a 40+ year career in real estate—owning a brokerage, managing properties, renovating homes, and even building his mother-in-law’s garage apartment with his own two hands.
He is predeceased by his beloved daughter, Andréa Mary Stottrup Thomsen; his parents, Mary Hopkins Thomsen of England and Knud Stottrup Thomsen of Denmark; and his in-laws, Luce “Pika” Salles and Lucien Salles of Nice, France.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Ghislaine Thomsen; daughter Stephanie Thomsen; daughter Elizabeth Healy; son-in-law Colin Healy; and beautiful granddaughter Harper Healy, all of Houston. He is also survived by his sister Anna Thomsen Holliday and her husband, Harold, of Houston; his sisters Vibbike Campion, Ellen Stottrup Als, Eva Stottrup Hancock, and Alice Stottrup, along with their spouses and children, all of Denmark; his sister Marianne Stottrup Treelor and her husband, of Melbourne, Australia; his brother, Eric Stottrup Thomsen, his spouse and children, of Austria; and brothers-in-law Rudy Salles and Gilles Aouis, along with their spouses and children, of Nice, France.
