

Herbert C. Anderson, age 85, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, January 10, 2011 after a lengthy illness. He was born in Chicago, Illinois to Elmer and Elvira Anderson on May 13, 1925. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Ray.
After serving in the United States Naval Air Corp during WWII, he attended Penn State University where he received his degree in Architecture. After working several years for a large Philadelphia firm, he opened his own office. He later moved his office to Houston, but did much work in Pennsylvania, Louisiana and North Carolina. He was a member of Houston’s First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving family: his wife, Meg; his daughters, Barbara Kilpatrick of Houston, Nancy Bell and husband Britt of Bedford, Texas, and Dorothy Kopel and husband Michael of Vienna, Austria; son, Les Anderson of Bowie, Texas; grandchildren, Kathleen Kilpatrick of Houston and Brian Kilpatrick and wife Jessica of Washington, D.C.
A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 10 A.M. in the Chapel of Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour before the service. A private interment will be in Valley Forge Memorial Gardens in King of Prussia, PA.
His family would like to thank the hospice workers who helped so greatly with his care. For those desiring, memorials may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association, The American Cancer Society, or the charity of their choice.
