

Herbert Herman Keller, age 92, passed away on March 22, 2025, in Houston, Texas. Herbert was born in Kosciusko in Wilson County, Texas to Emeryk Keller and Elizabeth Kaminski (both deceased) and was eldest son and second oldest of nine children. Until joining the U.S. Navy in 1952, Herbert worked on the family farm growing peanuts, corn and other crops and raising cattle.
Herbert was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Mary Louise, and siblings Irene Kolonko, William Keller, Mary Adams, and Chester Keller. Herbert is survived by his children: Curtis Keller, Janelle (Keller) Flores and Rob Keller; grandchildren Mathew, Shelley and Isabelle, great grandchildren and great grandcat Bryan. Herbert is also survived by siblings Patricia Richter, Gilbert Keller, Gerald Keller and Edgar Keller.
Herbert was a proud sailor, stationed on the USS Fletcher for over four years. Upon completion of his service to this country, Herbert moved to Houston, first to the Houston Heights and then Garden Oaks. He found a faith community at St Rose of Lima Catholic Church, where he remained a member until his passing. Herbert was a proud member of the parish Men’s Club, participating in fish fries and assisting with the parish bazaar. Herbert also proudly served the St. Rose Food Bank for many years, stocking shelves and most importantly driving the truck to pick up food donations for the pantry.
The visitation for Herbert will be on Tuesday, 4/1, from 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM, with the Rosary at 6:30 PM, at Pat H. Foley Funeral Home, 1200 W 34th St, Houston, TX 77018. There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, 4/2, at 10:00 AM, at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079.
