Heriberto "Eddie" Ortega

He leaves his life partner of 5 years, John Hunter; his mother Aurora Ramirez Ortega; his son, Joseph “Blake” Ortega and wife Diana Ortega; two grandchildren JC Ortega and Bailie “Emmie” Ortega; his sisters Rose Perez (husband Ernest Ortega) and Mary E. Castillo (husband Arturo Castillo); his brothers Martin Ortega Jr. (wife Nieves Ortega), Rafael Ortega, and Johnny J. Ortega; his numerous nieces and nephews and many close friends. Born in Weslaco, Texas, the son of Aurora Ramirez Ortega and Martin C. Ortega (deceased)

Mr. Ortega graduated from Douglas MacArthur High School in 1976; he had some college credit.

Mr. Ortega began his career at Texas Eastern; he then became self employed working in constructions and remodeling. He worked at The Scruggs Company as inside sales for 5 years. He also began working on translation of legal documents.

Mr. Ortega was multi talented in cooking, seamstress, and carpentry and remodeling. He had a love for writing and reading and had a great talent for writing poems. He was a loving and caring son, brother, father, uncle and grandfather. Everyone Mr. Ortega came in contact with loved and admired him.
