

On November 16,1982, a comedic soul was born to the proud parents of Roosevelt Cooper Jr. and Cheryal Denay Cooper. Hershel was the fourth of five children. He was a witty and talkative child. A trait that remained with him throughout his life. Hershel attended Rogers Elementary School, Northwood Middle School and Forest Brook High School. After graduating in 2002, he attended Prairie View A&M University where he majored in political science with a focus on law. In 2006, he earned his Bachelor degree in Political Science. During his college years, Hershel worked various jobs including sorting mail at the post office, working as a security guard and serving as a lifeguard during the summer months. Shortly after graduating from Prairie View A&M University, he began working for the city of Houston. He served in several departments before finding his place in the Permitting Center as a Senior Inspector. Hershel was full of life. He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, playing dominoes and spades and talking noise while doing so. He always had something to say and a way of making people laugh. He had a big heart and never hesitated to help others.
He was a dog lover who took pride in his appearance.His wardrobe often included a stylish cap, a crisp polo shirt and a pair of Jordans. He was also known for making the best macaroni and cheese and smoked turkey legs. His reputation preceded him so much that even his niece’s and nephews’s friends knew “Uncle Hershel”. His sense of humor could light up any room. Simply put, he was a big talker but one who was deeply loved by everyone who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Clara DeBlaw, Gloria Cooper, George Williams; his mother Cheryal Cooper, his aunts Doris Zennon, Karen Hines, Annette Williams; and his nephew Marquise Webb
He leaves to cherish his memory, his father Roosevelt Cooper Jr.(Connie); Grandfather Roosevelt Cooper Sr.(Emma); his brothers, Frederick Williams, Justin Cooper, Delton Cooper; his sister, Sureeta Webb(Ellis) , one niece, ShaKenya; four nephews, Elijah, Ellis Jr., Kareem and Maleik; five aunts, Gwendolyn(Clifford), Kimberly(Richard), Beverly(Erwin) Valerie(Olemuel), LaShondra (Terrennce); five uncles, Jerome(Angela), Wayne(Felicia), Kenneth, Bruce, Leon; along with a host of cousins, great- aunts, great -uncles and friends.
