

they named him Howard Lewis Anthony. Howard was born in
Marquez, Texas and as a child his family relocated to Houston, TX.
He attended school in the Houston Independent School District
and graduated from Phillis Wheatley High School.
While attending Wheatley, Howard participated in a variety of
activities, including the marching band, but his love of sports led
him to the basketball team. Howard’s passion for sports kept him
active and he used his knowledge to coach the youth at his church
and in his community.
Howard gave his life to God at an early age. In 2000, he joined
First Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership
of the late Rev. Ellison Colley, Sr. Under the leadership of Dr. Eddie
R. Lewis, Jr, Howard grew spiritually and became a deacon in
2023. Howard remained a faithful and devoted server until God
called him home.
Howard is preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Anthony, his
twin sister (Baby Anthony), and Keith Jackson (brother).
Howard leaves memories that will be cherished by his loving wife,
Shawana Anthony. His father, Thomas Anthony. Three sons:
Howard Anthony, Jr., Chikaris Rose, and Latrell McMillian, one
daughter: Victoria Anthony. Three brothers: Thomas Anthony
(Blanca), Aaron Anthony (Cristina), and Oscar Anthony. Three
sisters: JoBeth Anthony, Danita Anthony, and Tonya Anthony, all
of Houston, Texas. Four grandsons, Howard Anthony III, Antonio
Anthony, Rylie Rose and Raylin Rose. Two granddaughters: Kyrie
Anthony and Emani Rose. A host of nephews, nieces, relatives and
friends.
