Hubert took immense pride in his family and cherished his time making memories with his loved ones. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Walker Leopard, with whom he proudly celebrated 30 years of marriage on August 24, 2020. He is also survived by his daughter, Susette McSwain and husband Randy; daughter Sonja Neutze and husband James; and sons Michael Leopard and David Roy. One of Hubert's greatest joys was being called "Papaw" by his granddaughter, Zoe (Greg) and grandsons Zachary, Tyler, Tanner, and Memphis. Additionally, he is survived by his brother Bill (Lisa), brothers-in-law Jimmy (Linda), Roger (Charlene), and Terry (Renee); and sister-in-law Wanda (Pete); and other family members, including uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, and cousins. Predeceased by father Bill Leopard; mother Veretta Kasper Leopard; father-in-law and mother-in-law Ray and Edith Walker; mother-in-law Margo Young; brother and sister-in-law Wayne and Robin Leopard; and brother-in-law Ray Walker.
Hubert was a highly respected engineer and dedicated employee of GTE Corporation, retiring in 1999 after nearly 30 years of service. He continued his telecommunications career as an engineer for Triangle Drafting until his final retirement in 2014. Some of his favorite hobbies were golfing, riding his Harley, and rooting for the Houston Texans as a season ticket holder.
A memorial celebration of life will be held at a later date. The Leopard family would like to offer heartfelt thanks to all of who have reached out in love and prayers. The family extends deep gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and healthcare staff at HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress for their compassionate care.
