

Irene Trujillo, 72, of Houston, TX, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025. She was born in San Saba, TX, on January 3, 1953, to parents Lucio and Felicidad Martinez. Irene met Jose in Floydada, TX, and they married on December 19, 1974.
Irene worked at St. Gregory Church for several years, where she was a devoted member of the Spanish Choir and The Guadalupana Society of St. Gregory.
Irene was a devoted mother of four and a loving grandmother to Cisco Jr., as well as “Nana” to many. Her greatest joy came from nurturing her family, and she cherished every moment spent together. Irene especially loved celebrating holidays, watching Christmas movies, and enjoying family time, creating lasting memories for all who knew her.
Her faith was a guiding force in her life, and she began each day with EWTN and Mother Angelica, faithfully saying the rosary and watching daily mass. She ended each day in prayer, drawing strength and comfort from her spiritual devotion.
Her legacy of love, faith, and family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be remembered for her kindness, her unwavering support, and the joy she brought to every gathering.
Irene is preceded in death by her son, Jose "Maco" Trujillo Jr.; her parents, Lucio and Felicidad Martinez; her brothers, Lucio Martinez Jr., Joe Martinez, and Guadalupe Martinez; and her sister, Betty Vasquez.
She is survived by her husband, Jose Trujillo Sr.; her daughters, Rosa Trujillo, Laura Trujillo, and Maria Salazar; her son-in-law, Francisco Salazar Sr.; her grandson, Francisco Salazar Jr.; her brother, Raymond Martinez; and numerous other loving family members and friends.
Visitation will be held at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039, on December 26, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm, with a Rosary to begin at 6:30 pm.
Another visitation will occur at St Gregory the Great Church, 10500 Nold Dr, Houston, TX 77016, on December 27, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by the Funeral Service from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
A Committal Service will take place at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039, on December 27, 2025, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to everyone for their love and support during this difficult time. Your kindness and compassion have been a source of comfort and strength.
Irene will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
