

Her family moved to San Antonio where she attended Providence High School and was Valedictorian of her graduating class. Iris attended the University of Dallas on scholarship and later attended the University of Texas, where she majored in Interior Design.
Iris was a loving woman with a gentle spirit. She enjoyed reading, playing bridge, piano and painting. She possessed a unique artistic talent and was especially proud of her first place life drawing at the Houston Community College art exhibit. She and her husband were members of the Special Forces Bible Study Fellowship Class at Second Baptist Church.
Iris is survived by her loving family; her husband of 62 years, David Chester; sons, Bryan Chester (Jenni), Gary Chester (Gretchen) and Andy Chester (Mary); grandchildren Alex, Jack and Olivia Chester, Tabitha and Una Chester, Isaac Chester; and her brothers Bobby Rigamonti and Leon Rigamonti.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Robert and Eleanora Rigamonti, and sister Sandra Whisenhut.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Second Baptist Church Houston.
