
Jack M. McCaine, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away on January 3, 2011. Born September 19, 1923 in Houston, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents; Ethel Houck and Joseph McCaine, and son, James.
Jack is survived by his wife of 64 years, Flora Jean Thomas McCaine; daughter, Carolyn Damron and husband, Bob; son, John McCaine and wife, Julie; granddaughter, Allison Damron and Matt Jankowski; grandson, Zachary Damron; nephews, Richard Thomas and Doug Thomas.
Many lifelong friends met through the Houston Gun Collectors Association, Ruthven Commandery No. 2 K.T., Holland Lodge No. 1 and his love of airplanes also survive him. Jack attended Texas A & M '45, is a WWII veteran who served with the 384th B-17 Bomb group and is a Korean war veteran.
A special Thank You to Houston Hospice for the compassionate, comforting care they provided Jack in his final days. A memorial service will be held at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 3816 Bellaire Blvd., Houston, TX 77025 at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 08, with The Rev. Patrick Miller officiating.
The burial will be private at Memorial Oaks Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the James S. McCaine '78 Endowed Scholarship Fund at Texas A & M University, ETID Dept., 3367 TAMU, College Station, TX 77843; Houston Hospice or a charity of your choice.
