Jack Sumner Lentz1917-2016Jack Sumner Lentz, 98, of Channelview, TX passed away on January 17, 2016 in Houston, TX. He was born on July 10, 1917 in Des Moines, IA to Earl Freedom and Emily Sumner Lentz. Jack served in the Coast Guard during WWII as second in command aboard a sailing vessel. He retired from Broderick & Bascom Wire Rope Company after 33 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary Ellen Flick, and sister, Sybil Faubion. Survived by loving and devoted wife of 27 years, Dilys K Lentz, daughter Maxine Kelly and husband Dennis, grandson Michael Kelly and wife April, great-granddaughters Katelyn and Lauren of Kingwood, TX, step-daughter Mikey Carlisle and husband Jack Jr. of Shreveport, LA, step-grandson Jack III of Los Angeles, California.
