Jackie Opella

Jacqueline Marie (Jackie) Opella, of Houston, passed away unexpectedly in her sleep on March 15, at her residence. She was only 43 years old. The family is shocked and deeply saddened by her sudden passing. She was born January 12, 1982, to Jerry and Teresa Opella.

She was a loving daughter and sister who always put her family first. She always looked forward to when the family could be together. We often called her the Social Director of the family, as she was the one who enjoyed planning family events so we could all share in some love, laughter, food and fun. She loved to be around her nieces and nephews more than anything, offering up herself in every way possible for them. Jackie’s love of children didn’t stop with the family. She worked with behaviorally challenged youth in Wilderness Camps, residential treatment centers and schools. She was working her way to becoming a medical assistant at the time of her death.

Jackie is missed terribly by her family, including her parents Jerry and Teresa Opella; her eldest sibling Jeannine Opella Dunn & husband Patrick, their kids Erik & Lauren, Erik’s wife Emilie & their kids Brooklyn, Olivia, Blakely, Grayson & Amelia; their son Johnny Opella, his wife Sarah & their son August; their son Eric Opella & his daughter Abbott; and their daughter Stephanie Opella.

She also leaves behind many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

Visitation for friends and family will be Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm with a vigil at 7:00 pm in the Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024.

Funeral services will be Friday, March 21, 2025 at 11:00 am at Epiphany of The Lord Catholic Church

1530 Norwalk Dr, Katy, TX 77450.
