

Jaime Dena, 67, of Houston, Texas, passed away on March 13, 2024. He was born in Coahuila, Mexico on November 26, 1956 to parents, Juan Flores Dena and Delores Gallegos. He met Maribel Dayan in Knox City, Texas, and married on February 1,1985. Jaime worked as a Master Taxidermist at American Wildlife Taxidermy, specializing in African animals. He had a passion for hunting, history, theology, cooking, and sports—especially the Dallas Cowboys.
As a young man, he helped his parents on a farm in Goree, Texas every morning before school with his brother, Jesse Dena. Later, he worked on the ranch of the Offett Family in Munday, Texas. He met Maribel at the local hospital; they married, and moved to Brownsville, Texas for Maribel’s job. After two years in Brownsville, they moved to Houston, Texas where Jaime learned the art of taxidermy from Dale Bigger. With the help of the Tanner Family, Jaime was able to own his own taxidermy shop in Humble, Texas.
Jaime was preceded in death by his first wife, Guadalupe Ayala Dena; his son, Francisco Ayala Dena; parents, Juan Flores Dena and Delores Gallegos Dena; brothers, Moses Dena and Jesse Dena; and sister, Elvira Palomo.
Jaime is survived by his wife, Maribel Dayan Dena; his children, Isabel Dena Montalvo, her husband, Raymundo Montalvo, III, and Gabrielle Dayan Dena; granddaughters, Andrea Dena Montalvo and Claudia Marie Montalvo; his sister, Elizabeth Dena Flores; and brothers, Isais Dena, Eli Dena, and David Dena.
A Celebration of Life Service for Jaime well be held on March 29, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the Grand Chapel at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
