James "Bill" William Austin, age 87, of Conroe, Texas passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2020. "Bill" was born June 9, 1933 in Fasteria, Texas to Verta Viola Shearer Austin and James Andrew Jackson Austin.
Bill is survived by daughter Sheryl Austin Smith; daughter Patsy Austin Reid; and son Daryl James Austin; grandchild Brittany K. Austin, grandchild Ashley A. Smith, grandchild Reagan J. Austin and grandchild Rachel L. Austin.
Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife Lottie Lee Austin; father James Andrew Jackson Austin and mother Verta Viola Shearer Austin.
Bill was the youngest of 9 children. He grew up in Shepherd, Texas. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. After high school Bill started working in the oil industry then transitioned to a Longshoreman. Bill had a strong faith in the Catholic Church, and Jesus Christ. He met all with open arms and a loving smile and was known for putting smiles on everyone he met. He will be loved and missed by his family and his many friends.
The family would like to specially thank Patsy Reid, his daughter for her countless hours and care. Her devotion and dedication of her time she provided the best care for our mother and father. Patsy went above and beyond all expectations. No one could have provided the level of care that she provided. Thank you so much Patsy. We love you.
A funeral service for James "Bill" William Austin will be held Tuesday, October 6, 2020 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, 20000 TX-494 Loop, New Caney, TX 77357. Following the funeral service will be a graveside service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
