James Lewis Gaddy

James Lewis Gaddy, age 85, of Houston, Texas passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022. James Lewis Gaddy was born in East Texas Cherokee County on January 14, 1937. He was the first born to Finis Wilton Gaddy and Opal Lee Gaddy. Finis & Opal Lee than gave James Gaddy a sister, Betty, and a brother, Eugene. Betty married Lester Maine and had 3 Children. Melvin, Brenda and Ella. Eugene married Sue Pritchett and had 3 Children Glenda, Rodney and Rhonda.

During his early years the family moved from Cherokee County to Houston Texas. They first moved to the East End of Houston where James attended Edison Middle School. Soon after coming to Houston the Gaddy family moved to Jacinto City where the family settled down. James attended Galena Park High School.

Soon after graduation from High School James took various jobs around the Houston area then around his 23 year of age he started to work for Henke & Pilot Bakery. This is where he met the love of his life, Amparo M. Garcia. Soon after meeting Amparo M Garcia and a whirlwind romance they married on July 25, 1961. He immediately became the father of Rose Marie Garcia, Joseph V Garcia Jr and David Garcia.

James Lewis Gaddy is survived by his wife, Amparo M. Gaddy, of 61 years, his 2 sons and their wives, Judy and Cynthia. His 11 Grandchildren, numerous Great and Great- Great Grandchildren, sister-in-law, Sue Gaddy, his nieces Ella Borque, Rhonda Gaddy and nephew Rodney Gaddy.
