

James Burr Harrison, age 83, of Richmond and Houston, Texas, passed away on the 16th of August 2012. He was born on the 30th of December 1928 in Wharton, Texas, to William Alexander Harrison and Elizabeth Hroch Harrison.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Myers Harrison; brother and business partner, Willie Harrison and wife Leonene Harrison; and two younger sisters.
He was a member of St. Martin's Episcopal Church. He was an Eagle Scout and served in the United States Air Force. He graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in Agricultural Engineering and went on to obtain a degree in Petroleum Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin. After a career as an engineer for ExxonMobil working in the Middle East, Indonesia, Alaska and the United Kingdom, he continued to work every day, farming and ranching in Fort Bend and Wharton counties.
At a later date, a private memorial service is to be conducted at Calvary Episcopal Church of Richmond. Prior to the service, the family will have gathered for a private interment, also in Richmond at the Morton Cemetery.
