Janet Lee Heavner, 76, of Cypress, Texas, passed away Friday, February 7th, 2025. A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Janet was born December 2, 1948 to her late parents James and Eleanor (Repp) Stover.
A graduate of Churchill Area High School, 1967, Janet married high school sweetheart, the late Wilbert Weidenhof, Jr., soon after graduation. They spent time in Germany when he was deployed to Europe with the US Army, then came home to raise two children, son Jeremy Weidenhof and daughter Erika (Weidenhof) Hoffman. After her marriage ended, she worked to support her kids, eventually meeting the man who would become her husband of forty-two years, Freddie Heavner.
Moving from Pittsburgh in 1984, the family settled in Houston, Texas after a brief time in Arizona. The Houston area would be home for the rest of their lives. Janet established career success, and made many wonderful friends, working as an administrative assistant with Conoco-Phillips in Houston.
After retirement from Conoco Janet kept herself busy keeping husband Freddie in line, a full time job in and of itself, with always humorous assistance from her brother Gary and Sister in law Phyllis. She also cared for their beloved dog, Gracie, enjoyed meeting up with old friends, and especially spending time with her grandchildren, Jake and Marshall.
All who knew Janet knew her as a calm, gentle (but firm), woman with a ready smile and readier laugh. Wife, mother, sister, and daughter to those around her, she will always be our mother and we will greatly miss her.
Janet was predeceased by her husband Freddie Heavner in 2024, and her brother Gary Stover just days before her own passing. She is survived by her children Jeremy (Bernadette) Weidenhof of Houston and Erika (Pete) Hoffman of Katy, grandchildren Jake and Marshall Hoffman, and sister-in-law Phyllis Stover of Cypress.
