Janet F. Whitbeck-Dalmolin Lewis, went to be with the Lord on May 1, 2024, in Houston, Texas at the age of 81. She was born in San Antonio and was a loving, caring, funny, witty, and especially giving person who was dearly loved.
Janet leaves behind her loving family: daughter, Holly, and son-in-law, Jim Seward; sons, Hunter and Heath Lewis; and her cherished grandchildren, Mindy, Grant, Ryan, Sean, and Bret Lewis. She will also be thought of often and missed dearly by her siblings Angie Dalmolin Peterson, Christine Dalmolin Brown and husband Eddie, Phillip Dalmolin and wife Dawn, Jo Ann Dalmolin Haywood and husband Kevin, and Marc Dalmolin and wife Yolanda (Yoli). Janet joins in eternity her parents Wesley Whitbeck and Jana Mae Autry, her siblings Joe Dalmolin Jr., Jeri Dalmolin Bennett, and Steve Dalmolin and her loving husband of 40 years, Harold J. (Louie) Lewis.
Janet began her career at Kelly AFB (1960-62). After marrying Louie in 1962, she embraced the role of an Air Force wife for 22 years with dedication, supporting her family during their travels thru the USA and Overseas. Later she served the community at the Ft. Worth Police Dept. as a Data Entry Clerk in Records Division (1975-1980) before moving to Houston. She started her Houston Police Dept. Career in 1981 as a Data Entry Clerk, then Records Division, then Homicide Dept., then she became one of the first Senior Police Service Officer's for HPD, and retired in 2001.
A ceremony to honor and celebrate Janet's life will be held at 11:45 a.m. on May 15, 2024, at American Heritage Funeral Home.
