Janie Lee Rodgers

Janie Lee Rodgers was born on Saturday November 15, 1924 in Houston, Texas to Dan and Margaret Mueller. She passed away peacefully on Sunday June 9, 2019 at the age of 94. She is preceded in death by her husband JC “Clifford” Rodgers and her son Henry Dowden. Left to cherish her loving memory, children: Beverly Beck and husband Dee, Sue Eagan, Becky Bordner and husband Jeff; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren, along with numerous great great grandchildren.

Janie Lee came from humble beginnings, loved her family, and the simpler way of life. She enjoyed raising her chickens, tending to her garden, and loved sewing. She retired from Walgreens after 35 years of service. Granny did everything with simplicity and gratitude and had unconditional love for her family. Above all else, she loved her Lord and Savior and put all her trust in him.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2019 from 5pm to 8pm. Funeral service will take place on Friday, June 14, 2019 at 10am. All services will be held at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway Houston, Texas 77039. Interment to follow immediately after the funeral service in Brookside Memorial Park.
