Helen Jeanette Harris Cole passed away September 20, 2011, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born February 24, 1929 in Newton, Mississippi; daughter of the late William Harrison and Lula Armstrong Harris. She is survived by her husband of over 57 years, Douglas “Doug”; her son, Michael D. and his wife, Susan of Houston; and grandsons, Brandon and his wife, Amy of Edmond, OK, Cody and his wife, Amy of Coraopolis, PA, and Tyler, of Norman, OK; and her son, David E. of San Francisco, CA; and granddaughters, Chelsea of Atlanta, GA, and Hayley of Birmingham, AL; and daughter-in-law, Leslie Cole of Big Canoe, GA.
Funeral services will be held at John Wesley United Methodist Church, 5830 Bermuda Dunes, Houston, TX 77069 at 2PM, September 24, 2011. Interment will be at Serenity Terrace Mausoleum in Earthman Resthaven Cemetary, 13102 N. Freeway, Houston, TX.
In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, Alzheimer’s Association, or to the Endowment Fund at John Wesley United Methodist Church, 5830 Bermuda Dunes, Houston, TX 77069.
