Jeanne Arthur Roth

Jeanne was a wonderful daughter, wife, and mother. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on the 5th of January 1936, to Catherine and Laird Arthur. After graduating from The Winchester Thurston School, Jeanne attended Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts where she graduated with a secondary education degree in history. After college she returned to Pittsburgh to teach, while there she met her husband, Henry Roth. They married in 1961 and then traveled to several cities following Henry’s career as a civil engineer, eventually settling in Houston. After taking time to raise their daughter, Cathy, Jeanne began a long career as the Coordinator of Lay Ministries at Christ Church Cathedral, Houston where she created programs, organized volunteers, and oversaw weddings and The Cloister Art Gallery.

Jeanne is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, C. Henry Roth and she is survived by her sister-in-law, Margaret R. Brown and her daughter, Catherine L. Roth.

The family will gather for a private inurnment at Christ Church Cathedral in Houston.
