jerry "pop" Ferguson was a loving and wild man. From all the people that new him i don't think alot of people really new him like me. He was always smoking them old moores and drinking that mountain dew. He loved hunting and fishing. I stayed my whole summer with him. we had great times. The last memory i have of him is when he and I went fishing and the first perch he caught he jumped up and exclaimed," i got one rooster." I could tell that at that time he was the happiest man alive. I also remember when i was little my parents would lock the pantry so i couldnt get in and then pop would come in and unlock it for me and say "dont tell your mom". Thinking about that know always makes me laugh. He also used to burn holes into leaves for me with his cigarrettes. In fact he even did it when i was up at my aunts house this summer.
      Everyone always told me that i was his favorite and deep down i knew it but didnt want to rub it in the other childrens faces. When  i found out that he pasted it felt like the walls were falling in on me and that it was over. I felt that god had betrayed me and i had no were to go. Now i see that he is in heaven with my grandma Dorothy watching over me waiting to finally meet again. My grandma was his life as could anyone tell.
    He used to ask at night," weres Rooster can he come sleep with me." Know i regret that i didnt do it more often. He called me Rooster since the day i was brought into this world. I believe he called me it because of my redish hair and when i was little it would always stick up.  Well i think ive said enuff and i just want you to know pop that i will always charish my memories of you and will always love you.

"My grandpa Jerry was awesome, he was almost always smiling and laughing. He had a good sense of humor, the best grandpa anyone could ever ask for.He loved wearing blue jeans and drinking his Moutain Dew. I enjoyed spending my past summer with him and getting to know him. I will dearly miss him. Love you Grandpa.

I remember my big brother Jerry as almost always smiling and quick with a joke.  His favorite nick-name for any youngster he talked to was "Kidrock"  and that was long before there was a Kid Rock.  

He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid deer hunter.  He hunted my in-laws' deer lease for several years and they always enjoyed his visits (I'm pretty sure they liked him more than me).  

Jerry never was one to need other people much (except for his wife Dorothy).  Dorothy was the one that kept him involved with family and friends. Not that he was unsociable- Jerry liked people, enjoyed being around them, and was fun to be around; but he was just as happy by himself working in his shop or tending his birds. I guess, like most of us, he found himself to be good company.  We will all miss him.
