I was blessed to have lived next door to Betty & Jesse for several years back in the 70's. We talked laughed and cried over that back fence. I've never in all my years met any finer people than them, hands down. Fortunately my mom and dad were both there to greet them. They both meant the world to me.

Tony, Thanks so much for having the visitation for Jesse. I visited with many folks I haven't seen in a long time and can assure you that it was  appreciated by all present.

Cheerful in all weathers, never shirked a task, splendid behavior.

A really great man, and a great friend to work with.  You will be missed.

I worked at HPD from 1985-1998. While there I was assigned to work in the Accident Division (1989-1998). It was during this time that I had the pleasure to know Sgt. Jesse Foroi. I agree with other guest posts, Sgt Foroi was one HPD's finest. Always a gentlemen, and always with a pleasant disposition. He had a special and appreciated ability for managing police staff/resources, sharing knowledge, and blending the perfect amount of humor when recalling memorable experiences from his 40+ year police career. If you never had the pleasure to hear his police war-stories you truly missed out. Sgt Foroi you are now gone from us and resting in heaven, but you will never be forgotten. Thank you for your Police service.

I was privileged to work with Sgt Jesse and call him my friend and mentor during my career with HPD. When you met him you saw strength.  When he spoke you heard knowledge and wise counsel; an attribute of a leader. Jesse I know you are in good hands, God has a special place for an ole northside boy. I had known Jesse since I started in HPD in April 1960.  Jesse is one of the first officers I met, and although we never ever rode together on night patrol, we often saw each other at work.  Later he was one of my patrol sgts.  He was a good man, always friendly, He will be missed as he was one of the good guys at HPD.He will be missed, and we need more good men like him.

Sgt. Foroi was truly a blessing in my life. He was very humble, compassionate, full of joy and a peaceful man to be around.  It has been  truly an honor to have served under his leadership and a blessing to have known such a great and honorable servant of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Chirst.

Sgt. Foroi was one of God's gufts to the Houston Police Department and the citizens it served. His experience, patieence, and love of his fellow man were sorely missed when he retired after 44 years of service. May God bless him and Mrs. Betty as the join once again for eternity.

I will always remember Mr. Jesse walking up and down our street with his beloved Ms. Betty and how much love he had for her. One of things that I will always remember is him saying if he knew Ms Betty in kindergarten he would've married her then. Now Mr. Jesse you are with your beautiful wife in heaven. Sgt. Foroi, You were one of the best supervisors during my 30 year career at HPD. I remember being able to come to you for advise. I remember you first mentioning the Magellan fund and my investing and it being such a success. You were always there for us and you will be misssed as one of the greatest of the greats. God bless.

I remember growing up spending countless hours at his house learning so many things, I remember when you rode in the Helicopter in 1969 when HPD first got the choppers, and how excited you were, I remember that you always were respectful to your co workers who had small children, and worked most of the holidays so they could spend family time together, I have so many values I will never forget.

I can't express in words what it was like working with Jesse.  He was more than just a supervisor.  He was a mentor and leader who used a calm demeanor and humor to get the job done.  He also showed many of us that it was love of family and faith that was truly important in life.  And, when you heard him say, " You know I'm just a poor old Northside boy," you knew to take a seat and listen because something funny was coming.  My condolences to the family on the loss of a great guy!

I will never forget the fun he had at work and the stories of his early career.  He was always open about his faith in God and his love for his wife.

Jesse Foroi was the strongest, most fearless, most liked, most respected, most caring man I ever had the pleasure to serve with. He was very humble, smart, creative, and always our leader. He lived 84 years and left this earth without one single enemy. The north side Superman. RIP "Old Pard".

I had the privilege to work with Jesse at the Traffic & Accident Division.  He was a gentle giant that taught me so many valuable lessons in life.  Jesse always had a joke to tell along with a smiling face. I missed Jesse when he retired to support his loving wife Betty, and I miss him even more now. I love you man!
