

He is survived by his wife Sharon; sons, Jon, James, Steven and wife Tammy, Ryan and wife Suzanne; daughter Kathy and husband Michael; grandchildren Craig Callison, Andrew McLeod, Nicole Callison, Nathan Callison, Melissa Ross, Stuart Callison, Michelle McLeod, Katherine Islas, David McLeod, and Brian McLeod; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Jimmy attended grade school in Okmulgee, OK, high school in Wetumpka, OK and obtained a Petroleum Engineering degree in 1957 from the University of Tulsa while working for Carter Oil Company. Later in 1957, he joined Dowell, Division of Dow Chemical (later acquired by Schlumberger) in Victoria, Texas. He held various management positions in Venezuela, Libya, Iran, Midland and Houston, Texas. He was assigned to London in 1984 as Vice President of Europe and Africa. He returned to Houston, Texas in 1987 as Executive VP of North America where he retired in 1995 as Vice President of Schlumberger Limited. He then served as a Director of Vastar Resources, Inc. until 2001. He served on Boards for Spindletop Charities, and the College of Engineering at the University of Oklahoma. He served on committees at the World Petroleum Congress and the Petroleum Club and was a member of ASME, API, IPAA, NOMADS, and PESA.
Jimmy was a member of the United Methodist Church. He was an ardent supporter of OU athletics, enjoyed fishing, hunting and had a special passion for golf, holding memberships at Champions, Lochinvar, Southern Hills, and was an active member at Lakeside Country Club for over 40 years. He especially enjoyed besting his age in scoring on multiple occasions.
A Celebration of Jimmy's Life will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The American Cancer Society.
