OBITUARY

Jo Ann Hughes

26 July , 194628 October , 2019

JoAnn Hughes, a long-time resident of Houston, TX, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 28, 2019. Born July 26, 1946, she was the beloved first-born daughter of Bernard and Mary Grace Jozwiak Hughes. She lived her life as a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many.

Jo Ann, affectionately known as “Jo”, graduated from Reagan High School in 1965 and worked in Accounts Payable for Spec’s Liquor for 19 years. Many things brought JoAnn great joy, but most of all her family, friends, her work and her church. One of her favorite things to do was watching Astros baseball and she would’ve loved to see them win another World Series! However, we have no doubt that she’s watching from above. As a faithful servant of God, she was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and attended as often as she was able.

In her youth, she loved being the big sister to her younger siblings and liked socializing with friends. Her most endearing quality was her wonderful sense of humor which she shared with everyone.

Her eyes smiled and her laugh was infectious. In her later years she loved spending time with her grand-niece, Brooklyn, the apple of her eye. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have her in their lives.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
