In Loving Memory of

JoAnne C. Pepperling, age 92 of League City, Texas died on June 6, 2021. JoAnne was the daughter of Clifford and Ann Ballou Christianson of Los Angeles, California. She married Floyd Raymond Pepperling. JoAnne leaves behind six children and their spouses… Christopher Charles Pepperling and wife Jackie of Arlington, Texas; Kathleen Ann Madole and husband Scott of Houston, Texas; Donald Emil Pepperling of St. Petersburg, Florida; Victoria Irene Jensen of Brownsville, Texas; Mark Thomas Pepperling of San Antonio, Texas; and Matthew James Pepperling and wife Penny of San Antonio, Texas. In addition, she leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

JoAnne and Ray were married for 52 years during which time they travelled extensively due to Ray’s job as a corporate pilot. In addition to homes in Nevada, New York, Pennsylvania, Florida and Texas, JoAnne lived in Athens, Greece and in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. She loved cruising, casino gambling, playing cards, and the beach. She collected thousands of shark teeth while walking up and down Jamaica Beach in Galveston. JoAnne and Ray enjoyed travelling in their RV motor home… so much so that they lived in it for two years. JoAnne was an active member of the Bay Area Welcome Neighbors Club and co-chaired its Dining Divas and Fun Bridge groups. She was an avid reader and would read two or three books a week.

In conclusion, JoAnne was a strong, active and independent woman. Until she broke her leg a month before her death, JoAnne lived alone. She cooked and cared for herself and enjoyed driving her black Chrysler convertible all around League City. She lived life to the fullest and will be greatly missed.

No services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in JoAnne’s name to Friends of Helen Hall Library in League City, Texas.
