Debbie, I wrote earlier, but I am not sure it posted.  I am from CC, Texas and Joe, Jim and John and I were close friends in HS and college.  I am so sorry for your lose of Joe.  He was such a good man.  In the late 70s and early 80s Joe helped me through a very difficult time in my life.  He made me laugh and went out of his way to stick with me.  Some how I missed the information about the date and time of the funeral.  I want you to know how much I appreciate Joe and cared for him.  I will go to the cemetery in the next few days to say my goodbyes.

What can I say about our Joe?  A gentle giant who loved his family, church, ranch and friends.  He loved having people gather in his home in Houston or their ranch.  He was godly and his Christianity was a an amor he wore well.  I was lucky enough to join in the family gatherings.  I will miss Joe.  May his love for Debbie and his girls and grandsons remain in their hearts forever.  See you in heaven my friend Joe and take care of my sweet Mom.

I got to know Joe not just as a client, but a friend and mentor.  He was a good and generous man always willing to share his time and advice.  I'll never forget the time I was visiting and he gave me an impromptu lesson on Texas Longhorn cattle ranching.  He's touched many people over the years, enriching our lives.  Now, he'll make Heaven a richer place.

Debbie, you and your family are in my prayers. Joe was a kind and funny guy, I am glad I had  the good fortune  to meet him. We can find comfort in the fact that he loved the Lord and was not shy in telling all he came into contact with.

Joe Assad was one of the kindest men I've ever met. It was evident in his every action that he cherished his daughters, Katie & Betsy Assad, both of whom I've had the pleasure of calling my best friend. Once he got over the fact that I wasn't going anywhere, he and his beloved wife Debbie were kind enough to invite me into their home and lives for birthdays, holidays, births, and deaths, bible studies, and their hearts and prayers. Joe will be truly missed by all that knew him. I will forever be grateful to him for taking the time out of his day to teach me about The Word of God. As a devout Christian man, there is no doubt he was greeted warmly by Our Father.

I enjoyed getting Joe's emails.  I liked learning about the Longhorn cattle and reading the highlights of his life.  I knew Joe and Jim from school days! Joe Assad will forever be in my heart. Not only did he raise two beautiful daughters who I've considered my best friends for many years, Joe also help "raise" me. He opened his home to lead bible study, giving me my first real interaction with The Word of God. He was a father figure to me eventually accepting I wasn't going away, made sure to include me in family events. Birthdays, holidays, births and deaths. "Dad" was an outstanding example of what it means to be an unconditional loving, doting, father, husband, and grandfather and, some would argue, most importantly, a Christian.. Peace be with you, Joe. Your spirit lives on in all you mentored and touched in your extraordinary time on this earth.
