He was born in Dallas, Texas on July 30, 1945. Joe graduated from University of Texas and received a Bachelor of Science from the Business School.
He was married to Katherine Neal on September 23, 1967.
Joe worked in banking, sales and taxes for numerous companies. He had a passion for traveling, football, Sci-Fi and theater.
He was survived by daughters Tiffany Koort and Brittany Wooten; his partner Lynn Gamblin; grandchildren Austin Koort, Ryan Koort, Parker Koort, Riley Wooten and Ryder Wooten.
A graveside service for Joe will be held Thursday, August 12, 2021 from 10:45 AM to 11:00 AM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038.
