John is survived by his children, Eliseu, Eloiza, and Erica; grandchildren Daniel and wife Jessica, Peter, Bobby and wife Mary, Crystal, Megan, and Courtney and husband Justin; great-grandchildren Dominic, Drew, Brielle, Abaline, and Micah; and by his nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Olga; his siblings Helen, Katia, Selena, Ana, Paul, and Daniel; his parents Aresenio and Stefanie; and his son-in-law Richard.
John was born in São Paolo, Brazil, in 1933 and served in the Brazilian Army. He married his love, Olga, in 1956, and they emigrated to the United States in 1964. They made their new home in Philadelphia before moving to Houston in 1970 and spending the remainder of their lives here.
John worked for a custom homebuilder, where he developed his craft and passion for woodwork and cabinet making. He eventually started his own business, mentoring several of his family members along the way, and continued his craft until he was in his 70s.
John played his mandolin and sang with the choir at Central Baptist Church in Katy for many years, and his creativity and artistry never diminished. Until the day of his passing, John entertained his friends and family with his music and artwork.
We remember John as a faithful Christian, a warm soul, and a kind and loving Papa, grandpa, and tio. John always had a smile, a joke, or a pat on the back for his loved ones, and he will be dearly missed.
