

John Edward Hillegeist, a native Houstonian, was born April 10, 1942, and passed away April 3, 2011, at the age of 68. John was known for his contagious smile, upbeat attitude, and friendly spirit. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
John is preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Cora Hillegeist. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Virginia Hillegeist; son, Clay Hillegeist and wife Stacy, Daughter, Courtney Reuter and husband Arthur; four grandsons, Hunter and Grayson Hillegeist and Luke and Kyle Reuter; brother, Bob Hillegeist and wife Evelyn and their children, Nancy and Clark; plus many nieces and nephews from his wife’s side of the family.
John graduated with the class of 1960 from Reagan High School, attended North Texas University and served in the U. S. Army Reserves. He was Vice President and Secretary Treasurer of Hillbro Products and Systems, Inc. for 33 years. He considered his customers near and dear to him which made working more like a hobby than a job. John loved fishing, hunting, playing dominoes, and gambling.
The pallbearers at the service will be Clark Hillegeist, Arthur Reuter and Edward, Kenneth, Ted and Tommie Schneider.
A Funeral Service will be held at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 625 Nottingham Oaks Trail, Houston, Texas, 77079, 281-497-1500, on Thursday, April 7, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will take place at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery, 900 block East Main, Sealy, Texas, Thursday, April 7, 2011, at 1:00 p.m.
