

He attended Grimes Elementary and Worthing High School where he graduated in 1969. In 1970 he enlisted in the United States Army where he served two years and received an honorable discharge. John later married the former Edora (Betty) Bellard in 1978. John and Betty were later divorced in 1984. In 2009 he met and married in 2011 Carol Sanders.
John united with Evangelist Chapel AME Church at an early age and later moved his membership to South Wesley AME Church.
In this early years of employment John worked for Houston Lighting & Power Company as a journeyman, Instrument Relay Technician and was also employed with Southwestern Bell as a cable splicer. John also worked as a Mortgage Consultant/ Loan Officer, but he had always wanted to be an entrepreneur. After a few years he achieved his dreams by becoming a co-owner in a Network-Marketing Program and later the sole owner of Jupiter Credit Counseling Service where he worked until his health made it no longer possible. His legacy as an entrepreneur can best be described as an individual who was a hard worker, independent, and a visionary with boundless energy. He had courage, endurance and passion to follow his dreams.
On February 19, 2024 John lost his long-fought battle with kidney disease.
He is survived by his wife Carol Sanders-Holley, stepson Keshaun Davis and stepdaughter Tomishia Washington, two sisters, Sydney Jones of Missouri City, Zelda Williams of Cypress and three brothers, Lewis, Jr. Missouri City, Jatis (Belinda) Sugarland and Thurston of Los Angeles, CA. A host of nephews, nieces, and other relatives.
Predeceased family members. Father and mother, Lewis Sr. and Willie Lee Holley, a sister Barbara Phillips and a brother Leotis Holley.
With his departure from this place, we will miss his spirit, but his memories will remain with us forever.
