John Warren Kelley was born January 13, 1963 in Houston, TX. John was proceeded in death by his Mother, Vivian Kelley; Brother, Wesley Kelley; Sister, Sheryl Kelley; and Baby Sister. John is survived by his Father, John Kelley; Wife, Lorri Kelley; Children, Jonathan Kelley; Ashlyn Kelley; Kaycee Comalander; and Grandbaby, Jaxon. John treated every kid as if they were his own. Jaxon, his grandson, was the apple of his eye and funny enough, Jaxon called him Apple. Not grandpa, pawpaw, etc., but Apple. Kaycee, his mother, had to tell him the heartbreaking news and that night before bed, Jaxon told her that he was going to dream of jet skiing with his Apple. That next morning, he told his mother, Kaycee, “I am happy for Apple.” and she asked him what he meant? He said “Apple is in Heaven playing with God.” John’s best friend was everyone. So many people leaned and relied on him. We all felt as if he was our best friend. He was our rock. John worked at Baker Hughes for 32 years in The Health Safety and Environmental Department. He was the third generation of Kelley’s at Baker Hughes. Following Baker Hughes, he worked at Tenaris 8 years. His work ethics were golden and he was very dedicated. He treated everyone with respect no matter their status in life. He was a member of Sam B. Crawford Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rites, Eastern Star, and previously The Porter Fire Department for 20 years. John was well rounded and a jack of all trades. There was not anything he could not do and if he did not know how to fix something, he studied until he figured it out. He was determined as well as competitive. Hobbies were - his family first. He loved to fish, go boating, ride jet skis, and play golf. He also loved to travel and gamble. One of his favorite things to do was to walk, no matter where he was. He would walk 3-5 miles a day. He even got his buddies in on that, which of course turned into a competition. John had recently moved on the Lake in Livingston. Not one week went by that he didn’t comment on how much he loved their house. Ashlyn, his daughter, called it the spa so that is how their house got its name. John was very well traveled, he had been and seen many places. By plane, train, car, bus and foot, John traveled the world. But of all places he had been home was his favorite place to be. He will be sorely missed. John has been sending his wife butterflies, so if you see one it’s only John popping by to say hi.
