Johnny spent his early years in Pettus and later relocated to Port Lavaca. He graduated from Pettus High School in 1962. In 1965 John joined the military where he proudly served his country in the US Army. John was employed by General Motors, City of Austin, and the City of Houston
John was preceded in death by his parents, Larcy McCarty and James Kingston. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Davis, sons, Chris, John, Johnue, Randle, and Joshua Kingston, stepsons, Louis Vann, Vincent and Calvin Davis, a brother, James Kingston, eighteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
A visitation for John will be held Friday, May 5, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. A funeral service will occur Friday, May 5, 2023 from 11:45 AM to 1:15 PM, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. A committal service will occur Friday, May 5, 2023 from 1:45 PM to 2:15 PM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038.
