John Alfred Martin Sr.

John Alfred Martin, Sr. 74, entered into eternal rest on August 6th, 2012. John was born August 2, 1938 in Greenville, OK to Fred & Ruth Vera Martin. After graduation from Marietta High School in 1957 (*The* Class of 1957, according to John), he served in the U.S. Army & National Guard honorably discharged in 1962 after 6 * years of service. John spent the majority of his working days as a machinist, mostly with Cameron Iron Works, in Houston, Tx. Later in life, although never confirmed, he allegedly dabbled in Kris Kringle impersonations for public and private gatherings. He lived, mostly, in Texas, but he was never far from his Oklahoma birthplace, visiting often for reunions and spending time with family and friends. A loving husband of 39 years, father,uncle, brother and PawPaw , John was preceded in death by his faithfu companion, his dog,Buttons. He is survived by his wife, Susan, his children, Sherry O*Rand, Billy Martin, Angela & Adam Martin-Siens, John Jr. & Kasey Martin, James & Candi Martin; grandchildren Stacey & Robyn O*Rand, Joseph & Joshua Martin & Kaylee & Karlee Martin; Great Grandchild Colin Fisher.
