Johnny was a humble and ambitous man. When he was a young boy he built a wooden shoe-shine box and began shining shoes for a nickle. From then on, he had many job titles including being an agricultural worker, a baker, a dry cleaner, and finally retired as a sheet metal worker. He was a member of the United Sheet Metal Union for over 60 years. He enjoyed carpentry, gardening, dancing, singing and, most of all, loved spending time with his daughter, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. His family was his pride and joy and he never missed an opportunity to support every single one of them. Johnny will be forever loved and missed by his family and friends.
Johnny was baptized in 1931 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and continued to be a devout member of this church the rest of his life. He was a pious man of God throughout his life exemplifying generosity, kindness, faithfulness, integrity, responsibility and love for all people and creatures of God.
He was most often seen with a big contagious smile on his face. His humor and laughter lit up any room that he entered. He was quick to make friends with everyone he met. His family will forever cherish the goofy memories, dances, songs and phrases that he always told them. The love and dedication that he showed his family was rare and beautiful. He was so joyful of every child that was born into his family and he encouraged, inspired, and nurtured them all.
Johnny is survived by his only daughter: Mary Margaret Moreno; three grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Sandoval, Catherine Anton, and Christopher Anton; four great-grandchildren, Joanna, Xavier, Miranda and Isaiah Sandoval; 5 great-great grandchildren, Maya and Michelle Sandoval, Juliet, and Zira and Zelayah Sandoval.
