Jose attended Zapata High School and was a loving father, brother, and family man whose presence touched the lives of many.
Jose was a loving and devoted father, brother, uncle grandpa, and guardian to his family. A fierce protector of his brother Elizazar. A father figure to his nephews and a loyal friend.
At the early age of 16 Jose began to work in the oil field to help support his brother and sisters. In later years he also worked in cellular telecommunication building towers as a civil foreman. He loved his job and made many friends. Jose had a passion for the cowboy life. He enjoyed nature and loved going hunting with his brother and cuñados. As well as fishing, and going on roadtrips. He had a gift for storytelling around a campfire and would charm anyone with his laughter. Although he had many passions in life nothing compared to the time he spent with his daughters.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jose Leonel Gonzalez Sr.; his mother, Rosa S. Gonzalez; and his sons, Jose Leonel Gonzalez III and Leroy Gonzalez.
Jose is survived by his beloved daughters, Jasmin Gonzalez, Esmeralda Gonzalez, and Brianna Gonzalez. He is also survived by his sisters, Martha E. Gonzalez (husband Jesus Tajin), Rosa E. Villarreal (husband Genaro Villarreal), Paula Martinez (husband Martin Martinez), and San Juanita Garza (husband Margarito Garza), as well as his brother, Eliazar Gonzalez (wife Olivia Gonzalez). Jose leaves behind numerous nephews and a niece who loved him deeply, along with his cherished grandchildren, whom he adored.
He will be eternally missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
A special thanks to our sister-in-law Olivia Gonzalez. As well as numerous family members and friends. Thank you for being in Joe's life and loving him.
