

Mr. Joseph E. Oviawe was born on December 1st, 1955 in Nigeria. He went to reunite with his Creator, his Lord and Savior on Monday November 27th, 2023 at the age of 67. Mr. Oviawe is survived by his brother Osayande Oviawe, his wife Mrs. Caroline Oviawe, their children O. Precious Aikens-Oviawe, Aiseosa J. Oviawe, Uyiosa E. Oviawe, Etinosa D. Oviawe, his son-in-law Joseph N. Aikens Jr, the three precious grandchildren Joy E. Aikens, Zoe I. Aikens, Isaiah O. Aikens, and many extended family members. Mr. Oviawe was preceded in death by his parents Igbinogun Oviawe, Eghianouwa Oviawe, and his siblings Iyagbaye Oviawe, Okhuomahomyi Oviawe, Anothany Ugudia Oviawe, Smart Oviawe, Iriagbomse Oviawe, Enogumwengie Oviawe, Efe Oviawe and Arthur Oviawe.
In his younger years, he graduated from Igiobazuwa High School and went on to attend college where he obtained a degree in health science and obtained employment at a hospital in Nigeria. While working at the hospital, he would always pass up a fashion designing shop where he took an interest to the young seamstress there. He summoned up the courage to ask her out on a date, sparks flew. They wed in 1986. Wanting to provide a better life for himself, his wife, and unborn child, he applied for a Visa to come to the United States. Mr. Oviawe was granted a Visa to come to the U.S, and while he was away, his wife welcomed their first child in 1987.
Eager to be reunited with his family, Mr. Oviawe worked studiously to obtain his citizenship. Upon obtaining his citizenship, he applied for his family to join him in America. In 1993, his dream became a reality when he was finally reunited with his wife and daughter at Bush Intercontinental Airport. They soon expanded the family and welcomed their second child in 1996, their third child in 1998, and their fourth child in 2000. He was a committed husband to his wife and a dedicated father to his children, and later on his grandchildren. Mr. Oviawe had a fiery and passionate personality that made friends easily and was loved by family and friends. He will be greatly missed!
