Josie Frances Ditta

Josie was 90 years of age and was born to the late Louis & Katherine Carrabba on October 12th, 1934.

Josie was a graduate of Incarnate Word Academy, a parishioner of St Michael the Arch Angel Catholic Church, a member of Catholic Daughters Holy Family, and a former member of Daughters of Italian Heritage.

Josie was a servant of God and prayed the rosary faithfully. She strongly believed in the power of prayer.

Josie exemplified strength, style and grace, and her beauty was evident inside and out.

She loved her family unconditionally and dedicated her life to them.

Josie is preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Ditta, her son, Carl Ditta, and her brother, John Patrick Carrabba.

She is survived by her daughter, Fran Danna and son-in-law, Mark, and her son, Louis Ditta and daughter-in-law, Elda. Her grandchildren who lovingly knew her as Mimi, are, Andrew Danna (Brooke, Finn), Alexa Garcia-Ditta (Matt), Ryan Danna (Ryan), and Angelica Garcia-Ditta (Brian), Brothers, Joseph Carrabba and Frank Carrabba, Sister, Mary Ann Samaniego, and brother-in-law, James Tamborello, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family would like to give thanks for the loving care given to Josie from The Methodist Hospital and Houston Hospice.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers include her grandsons, nephews, and special friend, Gilbert Enriquez serving as an honorary pallbearer.

Family and friends are cordially invited to a mass of Christian burial at St Michael the Arch Angel Catholic Church 1801 Sage Road on Friday, February 7, 2025 at 10:30 am officiated by Rev. Stephen Bartlett (Bart) Reynolds with a recitation of the Holy Rosary prior to the service at 10:00 am. The right of committal will immediately follow via escorted cortege to Forest Park Westheimer cemetery 12800 Westheimer Rd. Houston, Texas 77077.
