Joy Elaine Cook

Joy Elaine Cook passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at the age of 85. Joy was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on June 13, 1929, to Norma and Ernest Harthun. She was married for many years to the love of her life, Grady Cook, until his passing in 1996. Joy was also preceded in death by her sons, Jeff Hulbert and Mark Hulbert; her brothers, Calvin Harthun and Warren Harthun; and her beloved cat, Devon.

Joy is survived by her nieces, Becky Cozean and Pam Jordan; her nephews, Peter Harthun, Calvin Harthun, and Craig Harthun; by Grady’s children, Melody Turner and Grant Cook; his step-children, Jill Cook Reyes and Ray Massey; his sister, Mary Neuhart; her beautiful cat, Mandy; and her many friends. Joy enjoyed listening to music, working in her yard, and walking with friends.

A celebration of Joy’s life will be held in a Memorial Remembrance on Friday April 24, 2015 at 11:00 A.M., at one of her favorite places, Clays Food and Drink, located at 17717 Clay Road, Houston, Texas 77084. Joy’s friends and family are invited to share their memories of Joy at that time.
